Our Values

Pole, it’s personal

At Goodside, pole is for you, not an audience. Build strength, flexibility and confidence in a safe space.

Pleasure-based sensual movement for yourself, not the male gaze.

Make it good,
make it your own.

At Goodside, the goal is to move in a way that is true to yourself, and to build the strength and skills for you to do so.

Traditional dance forms have an ideal of perfection that is impossible to attain. Our studio celebrates self-expression, supports each dancer’s diversity of experience and identity, and welcomes BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and dancers of all body sizes.

Respect for pole’s history.

Pole dancing was created by strippers and sex workers.

Goodside serves as a welcoming and inclusive space and we believe that in addition to education about pole’s history and advocacy for strippers and sex workers, direct action through monetary support is necessary to create impact. A portion of studio profits is reserved for organizations that are important to the pole community, including:

Urban Justice Center's Sex Workers Project

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center

Decrim NY

and other Mutual Aid efforts and local causes

SWer discounts to Goodside are available through the organization Muse Mint, and all information is encrypted to protect privacy. Submit your application here.
